Macario Gómez is deep in the jungle and several properties run on rainwater capture as well as a well. Rainwater is soft and acidic, almost the opposite of well water: it fills the pool with low pH and near-zero alkalinity, and that water does attack the finish and the metal parts.
Mixing rainwater with well water without measuring is the recipe for a pH that swings uncontrolled. In Macario Gómez the first thing we do is determine where the fill water comes from and stabilize alkalinity, which is what buffers pH. Without correct alkalinity, adjusting pH is throwing product away.
